1688 - London Gazette Newspaper
A genuine issue of THE LONDON GAZETTE dated April 23, 1688. This original SINGLESHEET issue is over 320 years old. A complete newspaper measuring about 7 by 11 1/2 inches and is in great condition. It is made of rag paper which was used back in the day (no wood pulp) which allows it to be sturdier then ordinary wood pulp papers.
The newspaper is still published to this day. Various news from London and other parts of Europe also with some interesting advertisements as well. This newspaper was first published in 1665 since other newspapers of the day were thought to contain the Plague which decimated parts of Europe.
